Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU (CVPICU) position at a children's hospital in Orange County, CA, requiring a minimum of 2 years of CVPICU experience and a CA RN license.

Details

• Position is located within the CVPICU of a children's hospital in Orange County, CA
• Highly variable patient population, primarily surgical patients with a large majority being infants and babies
• Acuity varies widely across the unit
• Specialized equipment and procedures include ECMO (with dedicated technicians managing pumps), Nitric Oxide, pacemakers, chest tubes, invasive monitors, cardioversions, and bedside chest tube placement
• Charting is performed in Cerner
• Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• 4 weekend shifts per month required
• Some holiday coverage required, integrated with regular staff scheduling
• Self-scheduling model
• Floating is required, with priority to PICU or NICU; may also float to Pediatric Med/Surg Oncology floor — no floating to ED or Mental Health
• No on-call requirements

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS
• Minimum 2 years of CVPICU or strong pediatric critical care RN experience required
• Cerner EMR experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide complex cardiovascular and critical care nursing to a highly acute pediatric surgical population, including neonates and infants
• RTO is capped at 7 days maximum for the duration of the contract
• First-time travelers may be considered with 2 years of strong, relevant experience
• Contract length is 13 weeks minimum, with potential interest in longer assignments
