Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position requiring an active TN or compact RN license, Epic EMR proficiency, and NIHSS certification for night shift coverage.

Details

• Hospital-based inpatient Med/Surg Telemetry unit with a focus on stroke, TIA, and higher-acuity med/surg patients
• Patient population includes adults and geriatrics with diagnoses such as stroke/TIA, seizure, syncope, pneumonia, chest pain, dialysis, acute kidney failure, post heart cath, respiratory failure, encephalopathy, CHF, and sepsis
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6 on nights
• Specialized procedures include peritoneal dialysis and continuous bladder irrigation
• Medication management via Omnicell
• Epic EMR is used on this unit
• Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 18:45–07:15
• Every other weekend coverage required
• Floating to other Prisma Health units and/or campuses is required based on census needs; staff will only float to units for which they are qualified

Requirements

• Active TN RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg Telemetry experience required
• Minimum 1 year of Epic EMR experience required
• Driver's license and Social Security Number required for consideration

Additional Information

• Unit is the designated inpatient stroke and TIA unit with a strong emphasis on patient experience
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the specific Prisma Health campus they are applying to in order to be eligible — candidates under 50 miles are ineligible
• Contract options of 13 or 26 weeks are available
