Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg unit, requiring Epic proficiency and remote telemetry experience with an adult to geriatric patient population.

Details

Hospital Med/Surg unit setting with remote telemetry monitoring capabilities
Patient population ranges from adults to geriatrics with diagnoses including diabetes, post-op care, wound VAC management, and bariatrics
Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5-6 on a 33-bed unit with an average daily census of 28
Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00–19:00)
Every other weekend required
Floating within the facility and scope of practice as needed
Relief charge responsibilities required every other weekend and on holidays as needed
EMR: Epic (required); also uses Pyxis and SBAR communication framework
Navy blue scrubs required

Requirements

Active GA or compact RN license required
Current BLS certification required
Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg nursing experience required
Epic proficiency required
Remote telemetry experience required

Additional Information

First-time travelers are welcome to apply
Local candidates are accepted
Two supervisory references (manager level or above; charge nurses not accepted) are highly preferred for consideration
RTO maximum of 7 days for the contract; RTO cannot be requested during the first week of the assignment
RTO blackout date: 9/7/2026
Holiday coverage policy: if one or two major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers are expected to work all of them with no holiday RTO permitted; if three major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers must work two, and one holiday RTO request may be reviewed for approval
Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
No schedule change requests or alternate shift requests are permitted — the posted shift is firm
Travelers must have been away from all facilities within this health system for at least one full year before returning as a traveler
