Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN for a 13-week travel contract requiring an active OH or compact RN license and current ACLS, PALS, and BLS certifications.

Details

• Emergency Department (ED) setting in a hospital environment
• Day shift: 7AM–7PM
• 36 hours per week

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license, currently in hand
• Current certifications: BLS/BCLS, ACLS, and PALS
• Associate degree in nursing required; BSN preferred
• Previous ED nursing experience preferred
• Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and independent decision-making skills
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills with ability to manage multiple priorities
• Ability to perform medium-duty physical work, exerting up to 50 lbs of force occasionally and up to 25 lbs frequently

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating individualized patient care using the nursing process
• Administers medications and performs treatments accurately and safely, and implements physician orders as written
• Provides patient and family education from admission through discharge
• Documents nursing assessments and care plans in a thorough, accurate, and timely manner
• Communicates pertinent observations and patient status changes to physicians
• Delegates role-appropriate tasks to co-workers and accepts responsibility for their direction in the implementation of care
• Ensures equipment and supplies are available for patient care and reports malfunctions to the appropriate department
