Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN for a 13-week travel contract requiring an active OH or compact RN license and current ACLS, PALS, and BLS certifications.
Details
- Emergency Department (ED) setting in a hospital environment
- Day shift: 7AM–7PM
- 36 hours per week
Requirements
- Active OH or compact RN license, currently in hand
- Current certifications: BLS/BCLS, ACLS, and PALS
- Associate degree in nursing required; BSN preferred
- Previous ED nursing experience preferred
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and independent decision-making skills
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills with ability to manage multiple priorities
- Ability to perform medium-duty physical work, exerting up to 50 lbs of force occasionally and up to 25 lbs frequently
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating individualized patient care using the nursing process
- Administers medications and performs treatments accurately and safely, and implements physician orders as written
- Provides patient and family education from admission through discharge
- Documents nursing assessments and care plans in a thorough, accurate, and timely manner
- Communicates pertinent observations and patient status changes to physicians
- Delegates role-appropriate tasks to co-workers and accepts responsibility for their direction in the implementation of care
- Ensures equipment and supplies are available for patient care and reports malfunctions to the appropriate department
