Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) position requiring 2+ years of CVICU experience, including fresh heart cases, on a rotating 36/48 night shift schedule.
Details
- CVICU setting within a regional medical center
- Patient ratio of 1:2
- Fresh heart (post-cardiac surgery) patient population
- Meditech EMR in use
- Night shifts, 7p–7:30a, on a rotating 36/48 schedule (3x12 one week, 4x12 the next)
- Every other weekend required
- Floating required within scope of practice
- Blocked scheduling cannot be accommodated
Requirements
- Active KY or Compact RN license currently in hand — no exceptions
- Current certifications required: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Minimum 2 years of CVICU experience required
- Experience with fresh heart (post-cardiac surgery) patients required
- Candidate must reside more than 75 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
- Driver's license with permanent address on file required for consideration
- Two professional references required: at least one charge nurse or higher, and one supervisor reference, both completed within the last year
- Middle name required — confirmation needed if none exists
Additional Information
- Orientation is held on a bi-weekly basis
- Travelers who have worked within the system for one year must take a minimum 6-month break before being eligible to return
- Up to 7 days of RTO may be considered; all RTO must be submitted upfront with no changes accepted after submission
- Must be willing to work either a major or minor holiday each holiday season
- Travel pairs are accepted on a limited basis; paired travelers will not be placed on the same shift or unit
- Any license hits or background check issues must be disclosed upfront
