Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced NICU RN for a 13-week night shift travel contract in San Antonio, TX, with Level 3 or 4 NICU experience highly preferred.

Details

Neonatal ICU (NICU) setting within a hospital environment
Level 3 or 4 NICU experience highly preferred
Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
13-week contract duration
Full-time position

Requirements

Active RN license in TX or a compact state
Current BLS certification required (AHA only)
Current NRP certification required
Current STABLE (Post-Resuscitation/Pre-Transport Stabilization Care of Sick Infants) certification required (Participant, Lead Instructor, or Support Instructor course)
Minimum 1 year of NICU or related nursing specialty experience
BSN preferred
Social Security Number required for consideration
2 professional references required for consideration
Copies of all active certifications required for consideration

Additional Information

Provides routine and complex nursing care using the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
Administers medications and treatments per appropriate protocol, monitoring for side effects and treatment effectiveness
Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers
Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers as needed
All newly hired experienced RNs must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days
New hires are precepted by a designated trained staff member with competency validation required for both organizational onboarding and Perinatal Services-specific requirements
Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel pay rates — local candidates are not accepted on this position
