Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced NICU RN for a 13-week night shift travel contract in San Antonio, TX, with Level 3 or 4 NICU experience highly preferred.
Details
- Neonatal ICU (NICU) setting within a hospital environment
- Level 3 or 4 NICU experience highly preferred
- Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- 13-week contract duration
- Full-time position
Requirements
- Active RN license in TX or a compact state
- Current BLS certification required (AHA only)
- Current NRP certification required
- Current STABLE (Post-Resuscitation/Pre-Transport Stabilization Care of Sick Infants) certification required (Participant, Lead Instructor, or Support Instructor course)
- Minimum 1 year of NICU or related nursing specialty experience
- BSN preferred
- Social Security Number required for consideration
- 2 professional references required for consideration
- Copies of all active certifications required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provides routine and complex nursing care using the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
- Administers medications and treatments per appropriate protocol, monitoring for side effects and treatment effectiveness
- Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
- Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
- Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers
- Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers as needed
- All newly hired experienced RNs must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days
- New hires are precepted by a designated trained staff member with competency validation required for both organizational onboarding and Perinatal Services-specific requirements
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel pay rates — local candidates are not accepted on this position
