Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a 13-week night shift PCU travel assignment in Salt Lake City, UT, requiring telemetry interpretation and at least 2 years of PCU experience.
Details
- Position is located in a 34-bed Progressive Care Unit (PCU) at a Level II Trauma Center, Comprehensive Stroke Center, and Chest Pain Center in Salt Lake City, UT
- Patient population includes cardiac, neurological, and progressive care patients
- Patient ratio is 4:1
- Unit is supported by a charge nurse (without assignment when census allows), Patient Care Technicians on each shift, and dedicated telemetry monitoring support
- Equipment used includes continuous cardiac monitoring, high-flow nasal cannula, chest tubes, PCA pumps, and Alaris IV infusion pumps
- Procedures performed on the unit include TEE and cardioversions
- Documentation is completed in Epic
- Schedule is 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Requires 4 weekend shifts per 4-week period and holiday rotation
- Floating required within competency
Requirements
- Active UT or Compact RN license required
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- Minimum 2 years of recent PCU or progressive care nursing experience required
- Proficiency in telemetry interpretation required
- Experience managing vasoactive drips, chest tubes, high-flow oxygen therapy, BiPAP/CPAP, and post-cardiac procedure patients preferred
- US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration
- One professional reference required
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include telemetry monitoring, rapid response participation, bedside shift reporting, hourly rounding, and delivering patient-centered care
- Caribbean blue scrubs are required
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible for this position
- All certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start date; AHA or ARC certifications are accepted
