Description

American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab Technologist with a minimum of 5 years of experience for a cardiac cath lab position in Birmingham, AL, requiring hands-on proficiency with IABP, Impella, Laser, Shockwave, and Philips panning.

Details

  • Work in a cardiac cath lab with 4 procedure rooms at a large, Joint Commission-accredited comprehensive medical center in Birmingham, AL
  • Cardiac patient population
  • 1:1 team-to-patient ratio
  • Required procedures and equipment include IABP, Impella, Laser, Shockwave, and Philips panning
  • EMR is Merge Hemo / Cerner, transitioning to Epic in August 2026
  • 10.5-hour day shifts, 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM
  • 36 hours per week
  • Call requirements include one weekday per week and one weekend per month
  • No float required

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of Cath Lab Technologist experience
  • Current BLS and ACLS required — all certifications must be AHA
  • RCIS preferred; if not certified, a minimum of 10 prior assignments as a Cath Lab Tech is required
  • Proficiency with IABP, Impella, Laser, Shockwave, and Philips panning required
  • Experience with Merge Hemo preferred
  • License required if applicable
  • Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position

Additional Information

  • Perform cardiac catheterization procedures and support interventional cases within a high-acuity cath lab environment
  • The facility is accredited by The Joint Commission and recognized for excellence in cardiovascular services, stroke care, and a broad range of specialty care
  • Scrub color: Ceil Blue or Royal Blue
  • All certifications must be issued by the American Heart Association (AHA); American Red Cross certifications are not accepted
  • Local candidates are not accepted for this position
