Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Long-Term Care (LTC) position in Vestal, NY, requiring a valid NY RN license and at least 1 year of LTC or related clinical experience.

Details

• State/government-run long-term care center offering rehabilitation therapies, skilled nursing, memory care, and wound care services
• Patient population includes residents with Alzheimer's and dementia
• Nurse-to-patient ratio is approximately 1:18–20 in a 300-bed facility
• Evening shift: 8-hour shifts, 5 days per week (14:45–23:15)
• 40 hours per week; every other weekend required
• Charting system: PointClickCare (PCC); prior experience not required
• Local candidates are accepted

Requirements

• Active NY State RN license, in good standing with no license violations
• Minimum 1 year of LTC experience required; recent experience in rehab, med/surg, or hospital settings may be considered
• Current BLS certification required
• Must be able to pass a medication administration (med pass) test and clinical observation
• Strong attendance, punctuality, and dependability required
• Proof of NY RN license required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include administering medications and treatments, performing medication passes, monitoring and reporting changes in resident condition, completing timely documentation, and supervising CNAs on assigned units
• Scrub color: any solid color with closed-toe shoes required
• All time-off requests must be submitted at the time of initial consideration — RTO will not be approved after an offer is made
• Cannot take every holiday off; holiday coverage flexibility is expected
• Call-outs must be communicated with more than 24 hours' notice
• Relias compliance modules must be completed no later than 3 days prior to the assignment start date; access is sent via email within 48 hours of offer acceptance
• Compliance onboarding typically takes 1.5–2 weeks
