Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position at a Level III Trauma Center and Primary Stroke Center in New York, requiring a minimum of 2 years of ED experience and night shift availability.
Details
- Works in a combined Adult/Pediatric Emergency Department within a Level III Trauma Center and Primary Stroke Center
- Patient population includes a wide range of emergency presentations including trauma, neurological, orthopedic, respiratory, behavioral health, burns, and critical care cases
- Handles advanced clinical procedures including blood product administration, central line care, phlebotomy, IV placement, continuous IV sedation, IV vasopressors, and ventilated patient management
- Patient ratio is 1:5
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Every other weekend requirement (2 weekends per 4-week schedule)
- Uses Epic for documentation, Pyxis for medication management, and SBAR for communication
Requirements
- Active NY RN license required
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and NIHSS
- Preferred certifications: CPI and TCAR
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience required
- Experience in a Level III Trauma Center and Primary Stroke Center required
- Experience with dysrhythmia interpretation and management required
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
- 2 professional supervisory references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
- Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration
Additional Information
- Orientation is 24 hours, conducted on night shift
- All time-off and scheduling requests must be submitted at the time of initial application
