Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Emergency Department position requiring at least 1 year of ED experience, with night shifts and a combined adult/pediatric setting.

Details

• Emergency Department (ED) setting in a hospital environment, serving a combined adult and pediatric patient population
• Patient ratio of 1:5 with mixed/shared acuity levels
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required when census warrants
• Epic EMR used; prior experience preferred
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required; pending licenses are not accepted
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department RN experience required
• Competency in phlebotomy and IV placement is mandatory for this role
• Required clinical skills include: interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, multisystem organ dysfunction/failure management, blood product administration, central line care/management, continuous IV paralytics and sedation, IV vasopressors, procedural sedation administration, CVA care, emergency medications, and isolation precautions
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
• Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration
