Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) night shift position requiring cardiac telemetry experience and a NC or compact RN license.
Details
- Hospital-based Progressive Care Unit (PCU) setting
- High-level, high-functioning unit with multiple long-term patients
- Patient ratio of 1:5
- Night shift, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
- Weekend rotation required
- Holiday rotation required
- No on-call responsibilities
- Floating required as needed across all campuses within the health system
- Uses Epic EMR
Requirements
- Active RN license (NC or compact) required in hand at time of consideration
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- Cardiac telemetry experience required
- Experience with management and interpretation of dysrhythmias
- Experience with peripheral line care/management and PICC line management
- Experience titrating drips required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Must pass a Pass/Fail EKG exam during compliance (two attempts allowed)
- Current driver's license required
Additional Information
- Provide high-acuity nursing care to patients with complex cardiac and telemetry needs
- Manage and interpret cardiac dysrhythmias and titrate cardiac drips
- Perform peripheral line and PICC line care and management
- Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility with no local rates offered
- Zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences
- Compliance must be completed by 12 Noon EST the Wednesday prior to the start date
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Previous charge nurse experience is preferred
- RTO must be submitted at the time of application; no post-submission RTO accepted
