Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Operating Room/Surgery position in Alamogordo, NM, requiring an active NM or compact RN license and at least 1 year of OR/surgical nursing experience.

Details

• General surgery unit within a hospital setting
• Surgical patient population includes orthopedic, general, podiatry, GYN/OB (including C-sections), pain management, urology, and endoscopy cases
• Schedule: 4 days per week, 10-hour shifts (6:00 AM – 4:00 PM)
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active NM RN license or compact RN license valid in New Mexico required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required (AHA-issued only)
• CPI certification required
• Minimum 1 year of OR/surgical nursing experience
• BSN preferred
• Strong written and verbal communication skills required
• Basic computer proficiency required
• US Social Security Number required for consideration
• Two professional references required for consideration
• All certifications must be current and active (expired certifications will result in disqualification)

Additional Information

• Candidate must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel pay rates; local candidates are not accepted unless the position explicitly states otherwise
• Responsibilities include applying the full nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation) and documenting care accordingly
• Collaborates with physicians, staff, and management to address nursing concerns and ensure patient needs are met
• Acts as a patient advocate, incorporating family in care planning and maintaining patient confidentiality
• Ability to speak an additional language is preferred but not required
