Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Medical Surgical Float Pool position at an academic medical center in Michigan, requiring Epic proficiency and a minimum of 2 years of experience.

Details

• Float pool position covering multiple Med/Surg units including Urology, Orthopedics, Neurology, Family Medicine, Surgical Short Stay, Medical Short Stay, Oncology, Pulmonary, and GI
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:00)
• Patient ratios: 1:3 on days, 1:4 on nights and weekends
• Every other weekend required (approximately 4 weekend shifts per 8-week block)
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating is a core expectation of this role
• Epic EMR — experience required

Requirements

• Active Michigan (MI) RN license required
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Prior float pool or multi-unit Med/Surg experience required for first-time travelers to be considered

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are considered only if they have previous float pool or Med/Surg float experience
• Candidates who have been employed by this health system within the past 12 months are not eligible to apply
• 2 professional supervisory references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
• A full 7-year work history with all gaps explained is required
• Any time-off or scheduling requests must be submitted upfront at the time of consideration
