Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position at a Level III Perinatal Center, requiring prior travel experience in a large teaching facility and night shift availability.
Details
- Work in a high-volume Labor & Delivery unit at a Level III Perinatal Center performing 4,500+ deliveries per year
- Handles both routine and high-risk maternal and fetal conditions, with specialists available around the clock
- Nurses work across L&D, postpartum, antepartum, OR, and PACU as part of normal unit operations
- Patient ratio is 1:3
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:00)
- 4 weekend shifts required per 4-week scheduling period
- Floating required between postpartum and L&D/OR
- No on-call requirements
Requirements
- Active Michigan (MI) RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of L&D nursing experience required
- Prior travel experience in a large teaching institution required (facility handles at least 300 deliveries/month)
- Required certifications: BLS, NRP, FHM, and AWHONN
- 2 supervisory references required (charge nurse references not accepted)
- Flu vaccination required; no exemptions — candidates with allergies must use an allergy-free vaccine option
Additional Information
- Provide nursing care across L&D, postpartum, antepartum, and OR/PACU settings
- 50-bed women's hospital specializing in both low-risk and high-risk obstetric care
- Candidates who have been employed by this health system within the last 12 months are not eligible to apply
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
- All time-off requests must be submitted at the time of initial consideration
- COVID vaccination is not required
