Description
American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Cardiovascular OR/CVOR-Open Heart position requiring an active IL RN license and BSN.
Details
- Work in the Open Heart unit of a hospital setting
- Day shift schedule from 6:30 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday
- 40 hours per week over 5 days
- 20-week assignment length
- Rotating weekend and holiday shift requirements
- May float to other Carle Health facilities including Methodist Hospital, Young Minds, Pekin Hospital, and Proctor Hospital
- Uses Epic charting system
Requirements
- Active IL RN license in good standing
- BLS certification (American Heart Association)
- ACLS certification (American Heart Association)
- BSN required
- Minimum two years of relevant nursing experience
- Epic charting experience required
- Skilled in bedside lab testing and specimen collection
- Strong problem-solving and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
- Technical knowledge of equipment with troubleshooting ability
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care through assessment, care planning, intervention, and evaluation using the nursing process
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient care from admission through discharge
- Deliver patient and family education tailored to age, culture, and developmental needs
- Document patient progress and complete required charting throughout each shift
- Demonstrate technical proficiency with equipment and troubleshoot issues as needed
- Advocate for patients and communicate effectively with physicians and care team members
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for this position
- RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract period
- No previous Carle Health contingent workers who completed a full year without a required break in service
