Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for a Med/Surg night shift position in Espanola, NM, requiring a NM or Compact RN license and at least 2 years of Med/Surg experience.
Details
- 13-week travel contract at a hospital-based surgical/med-surg unit
- Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, 12-hour shifts
- 36 hours per week, 3 days per week
- Floating between departments and/or local locations within 20 miles is required
- Epic EMR used on-site; training available for those without prior Epic experience
Requirements
- Active RN license in New Mexico or a Compact State currently in hand
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross required
- Minimum 2 years of current Med/Surg experience required
- ADN or ASN degree required
- At least one prior 13-week travel nursing assignment required
- Must be adaptable to a fast-paced environment and work effectively as part of a team
Additional Information
- Provides direct patient care using the nursing process, including assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting individual patient needs
- Administers medications and treatments as prescribed and coordinates care in collaboration with the patient, family, and healthcare team
- Assumes clinical supervision of LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel
- Identifies and addresses patient and family education and discharge needs throughout the episode of care
- Former permanent staff of this health system must wait one year before being considered as a traveler
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted
- First-time travelers are not eligible for this position
