Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Telemetry position on an Acute Med-Surgical unit in Santa Fe, NM, with day shift scheduling and experience managing high-risk medications and post-surgical patients.

• Day shift schedule, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• 13-week contract
• Acute Med-Surgical unit in a hospital setting
• Patient population includes post cardiac cath, post-surgical, and respiratory patients on NIPPV (BiPAP, AirVo)
• High-risk medication management required, including cardizem, heparin, nitroglycerin, insulin, ketamine, and lidocaine drips
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4–5
• On-call required if needed
• Weekend requirement with on-call if needed
• Floating required
• EMR: Epic

Requirements

• Active NM RN license or current Compact state RN license
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Graduate of an accredited RN program
• Experience managing high-risk medications and caring for post-surgical and telemetry patients
• Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
• US Social Security Number required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsible for conducting initial and ongoing patient assessments and developing individualized plans of care
• Performs Point of Care testing procedures
• Participates in patient and family health education and discharge planning
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates; local candidates are not accepted unless explicitly noted on the position
