Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced L&D RN for a night shift travel contract at a Magnet-designated academic medical center, serving a high-risk Level 3 Perinatal Center with a 1:1 patient ratio.
Details
- Labor & Delivery unit at a 637-bed Magnet-designated academic teaching hospital
- High-acuity Level 3 Perinatal Center where approximately 70% of patients are complex, high-risk cases
- Patient population includes antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn care
- 1:1 nurse-to-patient ratio with approximately 150 births per month
- Unit includes 2 ORs for C-sections, BTLs, and postpartum D&Cs; a second L&D RN serves as 'baby catcher' for well, non-compromised deliveries
- Unit also provides outpatient services when the clinic is closed
- Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
- Weekend availability required
- Floating within the hospital required; no floating to sister facilities
- No on-call requirement
- Charting via Epic (experience preferred but not required)
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rates with no radius restriction
- 13-week contract (minimum), with the possibility of extension
Requirements
- Active WA RN license or Compact RN license currently in hand — pending licenses will not be accepted
- Current certifications: BLS and NRP
- Minimum 3 years of L&D RN experience
- COVID vaccination and booster required — no exceptions
- Teaching hospital and/or trauma hospital experience preferred
- Epic EMR experience preferred
Additional Information
- Provide comprehensive nursing care across the full perinatal spectrum, including antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn care in an extreme high-risk environment
- UW's Level 4 NICU on-site serves as a regional referral center
- Prior UW Medical Center staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 18 months before returning as a traveler
- RTO may not be requested during Orientation week and should otherwise be kept to a minimum, with a maximum of 1 week per contract
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Scrubs in any color are accepted; scrubs are provided for OR personnel
- Daily parking is available for $10.26
