Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN - Operating Room with heavy robotics and orthopedic surgery experience for a 13-week travel assignment.

Details

• Work in the Operating Room department of a hospital setting
• Case mix includes heavy robotics, heavy orthopedic, and sports medicine procedures
• Additional case types include urology, gynecology, plastics, ENT, ophthalmology, podiatry, spine, and neurosurgery
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
• Rotating on-call required 2-3 days per week and every 4th-5th weekend
• On-call structure includes 2 call teams during the week and 1 call team covering 24-hour weekend shifts
• Call must be covered if RTO falls on an assigned call day
• Epic EMR experience preferred

Requirements

• Active WI or Compact RN license required (pending license accepted at submission but must be obtained during compliance)
• BLS certification required and must be active and in hand
• ACLS certification required and must be active and in hand
• NIHSS certification may be pending but must be completed during compliance
• Minimum 2 years of experience in the Operating Room required
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• Skills and experience with robotic-assisted surgery (Da Vinci Xi Surgical System) required
• Experience across multiple surgical specialties including gynecology, plastics, neurology, trauma, podiatry, orthopedics, general surgery, vascular, ophthalmology, urology, ENT, and bariatrics
• Proficiency with surgical equipment including cell saver, electrosurgical units, fiber optic light sources/cords, and Hana Table
• Knowledge of emergency management protocols including code response, fire safety, latex allergy, and malignant hyperthermia
• Proficiency in laser safety, radiation safety, specimen handling/labeling, Universal Protocol (time out) procedures, and urinary bladder catheterization
• Local candidates accepted at a lower pay rate
• First-time travelers accepted
• SSN, DOB, and RTO required at time of submission

Additional Information

• Provide perioperative nursing care across a wide range of surgical specialties in a trauma-capable operating room
• Facility cannot accommodate travelers with latex allergies
• Travelers may return to this facility only after a minimum 1-year separation period
• Travel pairs are accepted
• Badge photo (passport-style) required within 24 hours of offer acceptance
• Two supervisor references required after offer acceptance
• Orientation includes online modules averaging 3-4 hours to complete
