Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a high-risk Labor & Delivery position at a Magnet-designated, Level II Trauma hospital in Alaska, requiring 2 years of L&D experience and night shift availability.

Details

• High-risk Labor & Delivery unit within a 407-bed acute care Magnet hospital designated as a USNWR Best Hospital in Alaska
• Unit includes 10 OB Triage rooms, 10 LDR rooms, 3 OR suites, and 4 PACU rooms
• Average of 7 deliveries per day with up to 14 patients including inductions and high-risk antepartum cases
• OB Triage sees 4–5 third trimester testing patients daily in addition to general triage volume
• Patient ratios range from 5–10 in OB Triage/Testing and 7–14 in LD/Antepartum
• Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30; schedule is primarily straight nights but may rotate to days every 4 weeks if coverage is needed
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call required
• May float to like units within the state as needed — refusal to float may result in assignment termination
• Charting via Epic (experience required)
• Scrubs provided by the facility
• Free parking on-site

Requirements

• Active Alaska RN license required; pending license accepted, but AK RN license must be in hand prior to offer — applicant must be able to complete the AK RN license application (including fingerprints, application fee, and submittal) within 48 hours of signing
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate and Advanced Fetal Monitoring, and NRP
• Minimum 2 years of L&D RN experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Charge nurse experience preferred; facility is willing to train for charge role
• Minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting required for consideration
• Full SSN and DOB required for consideration

• Local candidates are not accepted — candidate's permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the facility
• Former permanent staff of this facility must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must also meet the 50-mile radius requirement
• Candidates who have previously worked at a Providence facility (permanent, travel, or per diem) should be prepared to disclose the location(s) and dates worked
• RTO is approved on an individual basis and must be disclosed upfront; minimal RTO is strongly preferred
