Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Surgical Unit (Med/Surg) night shift position in Janesville, WI, requiring a WI or compact RN license and NIHSS certification.

Details

• Hospital-based Surgical Unit serving primarily adult patients with a small number of pediatric beds
• Night shift schedule: 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM, 12-hour shifts
• Every other weekend and holiday coverage required
• Floating to other units may be required
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active WI RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
• Current certifications required: BLS/CPR and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Prior Med/Surg or Surgical Unit nursing experience required
• Education verification required for consideration

Additional Information

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members using the nursing process to deliver patient care
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques, policies, and standards of care
• Develop and execute individualized patient care plans, including patient and family education
• Participate in department performance improvement activities, which may include shared governance
• Apply critical thinking regarding patient safety and escalate concerns through appropriate channels
