Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Long Term Care/SNF position requiring at least 2 years of LTC experience, BLS certification, and an active ND or compact RN license.

Details

• Post-acute long-term care (LTC/SNF) facility with 26 beds
• Common patient diagnoses include heart disease, diabetes, and dementia
• Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:10 on days and 1:19 on nights
• 12-hour day shifts (7am–7pm)
• Every other weekend required
• Every other major holiday required
• No on-call or standby requirements
• No floating requirements
• EMR: MatrixCare (Matrix)
• No IV therapy or titratable drips
• No telemetry monitoring on this unit
• Oxygen therapy equipment includes concentrators and portable concentrators
• Off-site pharmacy; no on-site medication dispensing system
• No blocked schedule or self-scheduling; schedule is assigned

Requirements

• Active ND or compact (NLC) RN license — must be active at time of consideration; pending licenses not accepted
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Prior LTC experience required
• Current BLS certification required; pending certifications not accepted
• 2 professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, both including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire
• Copy of driver's license required for consideration
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
• Candidates may not be currently employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit-affiliated facility, including CHI and/or Dignity — those employed PRN through outside firms will be considered

Additional Information

• RN serves as charge nurse, responsible for medication administration and wound care
• No clinical supervisors on-site; facility is overseen by a Director of Nursing (DON)
• Physician coverage is available by phone after hours
• Interdisciplinary support includes PT (as needed) and a social worker designee — no rehab beds on this unit
• No respiratory therapy on-site
• 2–3 shifts of unit-specific orientation provided
• No specific scrub color required; clean and presentable attire expected
• RTO of 7 or fewer days per 13-week contract must be requested upfront; additional RTO will not be approved
