Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position at an Ohio hospital, requiring 2+ years of ER experience and a valid OH or compact RN license.

Details

  • Day shift schedule: 7:00 AM–7:30 PM (3x12-hour shifts)
  • Work in an Emergency Department with a 1:3.5 nurse-to-patient ratio
  • Patient care includes triage, trauma, dysrhythmia interpretation, emergency medications, procedural sedation, ventilated patients, psych holds, and pediatric emergencies
  • Charting performed in Epic; Pyxis used for medication dispensing
  • Floating is required
  • Every other or every third weekend is required
  • 36 hours of orientation provided

Requirements

  • Active OH or compact RN license required
  • Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and CPI
  • Minimum 2 years of ER experience required
  • Experience in a Level I Trauma Center, stroke-certified, and STEMI-certified facility preferred
  • 2 professional references required: at least 1 from a Manager, Director, or formal leadership role (e.g., Supervisor); a Charge RN is acceptable as the 2nd reference; co-worker references are not accepted

Additional Information

  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Local candidates are accepted
  • Former employees of the facility are eligible to apply once they have been away for 6 months or more
  • Navy scrubs required
  • Any requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed upfront and is limited to 7 days or fewer for the contract
  • Ohio state fingerprinting is required and must be completed promptly after accepting an offer — candidates outside Ohio may need to travel to an in-state fingerprinting location or will receive a fingerprinting packet by mail
  • Hospital parking is available for purchase through CampusParc with multiple permit options, including garage and surface lot access
