Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Emergency Department position in Wisconsin, requiring 2+ years of ED experience and current TNCC certification, working three 12-hour shifts per week with every third weekend required.

Details

• Emergency Department setting at a medical center facility
• Patients range from pediatric to geriatric across the full illness-to-wellness continuum
• Triage performed using the Emergency Severity Index (ESI) 5-level triage system
• Shift schedule consists of three 12-hour shifts per week, rotating between 7:00 AM–7:00 PM and 10:00 AM–10:00 PM
• Every third weekend is required
• 8-week contract

Requirements

• Active WI RN license or active Compact RN license currently in hand
• Current certifications required: BLS/BCLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC
• ATCN certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of relevant ED nursing experience required
• Two-year nursing degree required; four-year degree preferred
• Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail required
• DOB and SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

• Performs triage, age-appropriate assessments, and direct patient care across all acuity levels
• Administers IV fluids, blood products, medications, and executes emergency resuscitation protocols
• Monitors life support and automated technical equipment
• Documents nursing care using medical terminology in a medically and legally acceptable ED record
• Coordinates care for multiple patients simultaneously, prioritizing needs to optimize patient flow
• Collaborates with providers, peers, and ancillary departments to ensure efficient and effective care delivery
• Participates in education for pre-hospital emergency providers and other students
• Responds calmly and efficiently in high-stress situations, including appropriate delegation
