Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (CPCU) position in Hawaii, requiring telemetry monitoring skills and a valid Hawaii RN license.
Details
- Work in a 15-bed Progressive Care Unit, including 3 Step-Down ICU beds and 12 telemetry beds
- Patient ratios are 1:4 for Progressive Care and 1:3 for Step-Down ICU
- Procedures include primary nursing care, telemetry monitoring, telemetry strip reading, and fingerstick blood glucose testing
- Equipment used includes BIPAP and continuous cardiac monitoring
- Charting is performed in Meditech; medications dispensed via Pyxis
- Varied shift schedule, 36 hours per week (following the first week of orientation)
- No on-call responsibilities
- Floating required to all acute units in-house, including Medical, Surgical/Peds, ICU, and ER
Requirements
- Active Hawaii (HI) RN license required by start of assignment
- BLS/BCLS required
- ACLS preferred
- PALS preferred
- NIHSS certification preferred
- Minimum 1 year of hospital acute care experience within the last year
- Progressive Care and telemetry experience preferred
Additional Information
- All travelers must report to Employee Health 48–72 hours prior to the start of assignment; plan to arrive in Hawaii the Thursday before a Monday start to attend a Friday morning Employee Health appointment
- Travelers not yet in possession of a HI RN license must apply for one upon acceptance of an offer
- COVID-19 vaccination is required
- Scrubs required as the dress code
