Description

American Traveler is hiring a Radiology Technologist (X-Ray only) for a 12-week acute care contract, working a 7-on/7-off evening shift schedule with call requirements.

Details

• Acute care hospital radiology department specializing in general X-Ray
• Department has 4 rooms, 5 C-arms, and 2 fluoroscopy surgical suites
• X-ray only duties — no multi-modality work required
• Imaging/studies include X-Ray, fluoroscopy, and surgery cases
• Department averages 123 exams per day
• GE and Siemens equipment used for X-Ray and fluoroscopy; GE, Siemens, and Philips C-arms
• EMR: MEDITECH; PACS: Synapse
• 12-hour evening shifts, 1:00 PM – 1:00 AM
• Schedule is 7 days on / 7 days off (Thursday–Wednesday), resulting in alternating 36- and 48-hour weeks
• Call requirement: 2 day-shift call days per month, starting at 6:30 AM and running through 7:00 AM the following day, with a 30-minute response time
• Weekend and holiday coverage required when shifts fall on those days
• May be asked to float between two campuses located approximately 16 minutes apart

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of Radiology Technologist experience
• Active ARRT (R) certification required — pending certifications not accepted
• Current BLS certification required
• Texas Department of Health (TDH) registration required; note that holding a TX Rad Tech license includes fluoroscopy privileges — no separate fluoro permit needed
• Active state license required if applicable — pending licenses will not be accepted
• 2 professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire
• Copy of driver's license required for consideration

Additional Information

• Performs X-Ray, fluoroscopy, and surgery case imaging; IV starts required only rarely
• Radiologist is on-site from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM
• On-the-job orientation provided (12 hours)
• Manager interview required
• Black scrubs required; not provided by the facility
• Call-outs are strongly discouraged and may result in termination
• Candidates who have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity Health facility within the past year are not eligible; candidates previously employed PRN through outside staffing firms will be considered
• Local candidates are accepted
