Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a GI/Endoscopy position requiring at least 1 year of experience with advanced endoscopic procedures and Epic proficiency.
Details
- Short-term acute care hospital setting, Endoscopy/GI unit
- Department averages 80 procedures per day across 5 rooms
- Patient ratio of 1:3
- Procedures include Colonoscopy, Esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD), Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS), and advanced/biliary room cases
- Medications and agents used include Opioid Analgesics, Propofol, and Reversal Agents; experience with monitored anesthesia care (MAC) sedation recovery required
- Day shift, 5x8-hour shifts (7:00 AM–3:30 PM), with 2 assigned late shifts per week; latest end time is approximately 8:00 PM to accommodate end-of-day add-ons
- No weekend or holiday coverage required
- Floating may occur within the GI/Endoscopy service line and scope, but not between facilities
- Some after-hours on-call shifts may be requested
- Charting is done in Epic; experience required
- Full hospital support services available to the GI department
- Free parking on-site
Requirements
- Active MO RN license or Compact RN license valid in Missouri, required at time of consideration
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience in GI/Endoscopy required
- Proficiency with Epic EMR required
- Experience with Opioid Analgesics, Propofol, Reversal Agents, and MAC sedation recovery required
- Experience with Colonoscopy, EGD, and EUS required
- Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible
Additional Information
- Initial training and assignments will be in pre-procedure and post-op areas, with potential advancement to procedure rooms following skills assessment
- Experience in advanced/biliary procedure rooms is a plus
- Clean and professional scrubs required; no specific color designated
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- RTO is limited to no more than 7 days per 13-week contract; no RTO during the first week of orientation
- Travelers may remain at this health system for up to 18 months, after which a 3-month break in service is required
- Former permanent employees of this health system must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
