Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool position requiring PICU and NICU experience, with floating across multiple pediatric units in an academic medical center setting.

Details

  • Float pool position rotating across multiple pediatric units including PICU, NICU, Peds Med/Surg, Peds PACU, Peds ED Boarders, and Postpartum/Mother Baby
  • Day shift, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM (3x12-hour shifts)
  • 36 or 48 hours available per week
  • Every other weekend required
  • Every other holiday required
  • Block scheduling cannot be accommodated
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • 13-week contract

Requirements

  • Active VA or Compact RN license required; VA license pending will be accepted
  • Current certifications required: BLS, NRP, ACLS, and PALS
  • Dr. Brown's Infant Driven Feeding Certification required (may be submitted as pending; certification has an associated cost of $185)
  • Minimum 2 years of PICU experience required
  • Both PICU and NICU experience required
  • Peds PACU experience highly preferred
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Two professional references required for consideration
  • Valid government-issued photo ID (DL) and Social Security card required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Candidates must be comfortable floating across all assigned pediatric units in accordance with their clinical experience
  • Previous NICU/PICU float pool experience may be considered in lieu of separate unit experience
  • Up to 40 hours of RTO may be approved per 13-week contract; no RTO will be approved during the first 2 weeks of assignment
  • There is no radius rule for this position; local candidates are welcome to apply
  • Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must allow 12 months to pass before returning as a traveler
