Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool position requiring 2+ years of PICU experience and comfort floating to NICU, Peds Med-Surg, Peds PACU, Peds ED, and Postpartum/Mother-Baby units.

- Peds Float Pool position covering PICU, NICU, Peds Med-Surg, Peds PACU, Peds ED boarders, and Postpartum/Mother-Baby units"]
- Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
- 13-week assignment with 36 or 48 hours per week
- Every other weekend and every other holiday required
- Block scheduling cannot be accommodated or guaranteed
- 1:2 patient ratio
- Uses Epic EMR system
- Floating required within scope of practice per facility float policy
Requirements
- Active VA or compact RN license (pending license accepted)
- BLS, NRP, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
- 2 years of PICU experience required
- Comfort with NICU, Acute Pediatrics, and Pediatric ED patient populations required
- Dr. Brown's Infant Driven Feeding Certificate required (may submit with certification pending)
- Teaching hospital experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Prior travel experience required, though candidates with NICU/PICU float pool experience will be considered
- Peds PACU experience highly preferred
- BSN preferred
- APHON, CPHON, and OCN certifications preferred
Additional Information
- Provide critical care nursing support across multiple pediatric units as part of a float pool team
- Previous charge experience preferred
- Community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
- Maximum of 40 hours of RTO approved per 13-week contract, with no additional RTO after offer acceptance
- No RTO approved during the first 2 weeks of the assignment
- Any vacation time between sign date and start date must be disclosed to plan an appropriate start date
- Candidates with prior UVA Health employment as permanent staff or travelers must disclose this, subject to a 1-year separation and leadership approval
- External travelers cannot exceed 365 total assignment days at this facility
- First-time travelers with relevant NICU/PICU float pool experience may be considered
