Description
American Traveler is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist / Sonographer with a minimum of 2 years of experience and required ARDMS OB/GYN certification for a 13-week outpatient OB/GYN clinic assignment.
Details
- Outpatient OB/GYN clinic setting performing Level 1 OB scans and GYN scans
- Patient population includes OB/GYN patients requiring high-risk OB and general outpatient ultrasound imaging
- OB/GYN procedures include 1st, 2nd, and 3rd trimester scans, amniotic fluid index, fetal anatomical survey, and placenta previa evaluation
- Neonatal imaging includes bone lengths, cerebellum, ventricles, head, and heart
- Renal/pelvic imaging includes bladder, hernia, ovaries, prostate, renal/bladder, uterus, and vaginal studies
- GE ultrasound equipment required; Epic EMR used
- 5x8 hour day shifts, Monday through Friday, 7:45 AM to 4:30 PM with a 45-minute meal break
- No call or weekend requirements
- Floating is required per facility needs
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant ultrasound experience required
- OB/GYN experience is required
- Required experience in high-risk OB, outpatient GE, and OB/GYN ultrasound settings
- Required skills in OB/GYN, neonatal, and renal/pelvic sonography as outlined in job details
- ARDMS and ARDMS OB/GYN certification required; BLS required
- Must be a registered diagnostic medical sonographer
- GE ultrasound equipment experience required
- License required if applicable
- Two professional references from a manager or supervisor within the past 2 years required prior to start (pending at time of consideration is acceptable)
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are accepted for this position
- Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility are accepted at a different rate
- Candidates who previously worked at this health system as permanent, PRN, or extended placement staff must wait 12 months before applying as a traveler; facility rehire approval is required
- Up to 7 days of RTO may be approved as long as it does not fall on a holiday; no RTO is permitted during the first week of the assignment due to orientation
- RTO requested after booking is not permitted and cannot be arranged onsite; call-offs or additional RTO may result in cancellation
- Candidates must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays
- Weekly orientation; pre-start online modules required (approximately 4–5 hours for non-acute roles), completed via online learning, Zoom, webinar, or in-person
- ARDMS FE and NT certifications are preferred; experience with nuchal translucency screening is a plus
- Contract staff may be assigned to a Storm Team or Hurricane Team and may be required to report during catastrophic events, mass casualty incidents, or disasters
- Scrubs are not provided; any color is acceptable
- Travel pairs are allowed but must have their own transportation and be comfortable with potentially different schedules
