Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiac Stepdown position at a Level II Trauma hospital, requiring ACLS and NIHSS certifications with night shift availability.

Details

• Short-term acute care hospital setting, Cardiac Stepdown unit
• Level II Trauma hospital with 90 staffed beds
• Magnet-designated and teaching facility
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:00
• Approximately 6–7 weekend shifts required per contract
• Block scheduling available at manager's discretion
• Charting performed in Epic
• Local candidates are accepted

Requirements

• Active VA or Compact RN license currently in hand
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Proficiency in cardiac telemetry and dysrhythmia management
• Experience with central and peripheral line management
• Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips
• CPI certification preferred

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include monitoring and managing cardiac stepdown patients, including dysrhythmia recognition and treatment
• Epic EMR experience is beneficial given its use on the unit
• Time-off requests must be submitted at the time of initial consideration; RTO approvals are at the manager's discretion
• Navy blue and white scrubs required
