Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position on a 4 West unit, requiring prior travel experience and telemetry-specific clinical skills.
Details
- Position is located on a Med/Surg Telemetry unit (4 West) within an acute care hospital setting
- Common patient diagnoses include alcohol abuse, COPD, diabetes mellitus, CHF, sepsis, and pneumonia
- Specialized medications administered include antibiotics, anticoagulants, blood products, Lasix, and amiodarone
- Specialty equipment includes Pyxis, Zebra scanners, bladder scanners, and dopplers
- Epic EMR experience is required
- Schedule is 12-hour night shifts (1900–0730), three shifts per week
- Every other weekend is required
- No block scheduling permitted
- Floating is required
- No on-call responsibilities
Requirements
- Active MA RN license required (current or conditional); NURSYS verification must show all past and present licenses
- Current AHA BLS certification required; AHA ACLS preferred
- Minimum 1–2 years of Med/Surg Telemetry experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience is required
- Acute care hospital experience required
- Charge nurse capability highly preferred
- Two recent references from RN charge nurses, managers, or supervisors in Med/Surg or Telemetry required for consideration
- Driver's license with address matching demographics required for consideration
- Flu vaccine required during flu season
Additional Information
- Orientation consists of a hospital-wide orientation followed by two preceptored shifts on the unit
- Orientation runs on a bi-weekly schedule
- Rotating holiday coverage is required
- Any color scrubs are acceptable
- RTO must be submitted upfront; requests of no more than 5 days will be considered
- Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are eligible but will be subject to a local pay rate
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
