Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position at a short-term acute care hospital in Lancaster, SC, requiring prior travel nursing experience and an active SC or Compact RN license.

Details

• Short-term acute care hospital with 97 staffed beds
• Med/Surg Telemetry unit
• Patient ratio of 1:6 to 1:7
• Schedule options: 3x12s or 4x12s, Day shift (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating within scope to like units or sister facilities is required
• Charting via Epic
• Free parking on-site

Requirements

• Active SC RN license or Compact RN license required; candidates with a pending SC license may be considered but must have an active license prior to starting
• Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Med/Surg experience required
• Telemetry experience preferred, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Prior travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered
• SSN and Driver's License required for consideration
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration

Additional Information

• A virtual interview with the Nursing Director is required for all candidates
• All required online modules must be completed prior to the start date; access to modules is typically provided the Wednesday before the start date
• Attendance at staff meetings is required
• Candidates who are or have been permanent or PRN staff at any MUSC location must be separated from the MUSC system for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler
• All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at time of consideration; approval is based on facility needs
• Local candidates (within 60 miles of the facility) are accepted; non-local candidates are given priority
• Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season (June–November), all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams; peak hurricane months are August and September
• Royal blue scrubs required
