Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Operating Room position at a Level 3 Trauma facility in Concord, NC, requiring a minimum of 5 years of OR experience and the ability to circulate across a wide range of surgical specialties.
Details
- Works in a large OR department with 19 suites averaging 50 cases per day
- Surgical specialties include trauma, ortho trauma, ortho total joints, spine, cardiac, MI vascular, GYN, GYN-oncology, robotics, general surgery, HPB, bariatrics, urology, ENT, ophthalmology, pain, and plastics
- Facility is a Bariatric Center of Excellence and holds Advanced Spine Surgery Certification
- Day shift schedule: 0700–1900, 36 hours per week (3x12s)
- Weekend rotation every 4th weekend; coverage may be a scheduled shift (7a–7p) or call (7a–7p or 7p–7a)
- On-call required: average of 6 call shifts per 6-week schedule, with a 45-minute response time
- Call hours: 11p–7a on weekdays; 7a–7p or 7p–7a on weekends
- Charting done in Epic (experience preferred)
- No floating required
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active NC or Compact RN license required
- BLS certification required
- CNOR preferred but not required
- Minimum 5 years of OR experience required
- Experience circulating in trauma, ortho, spine, cardiac, vascular, GYN, robotics, bariatrics, and other general surgical specialties required
- Most recent experience must be within the last year
- 1 professional reference dated within the past year, from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN, required for consideration
- Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates are not accepted

- Supported by Service Line Clinical Supervisors, Charge Nurses, Educators, ORAs, Unit Secretaries, and Tech Engineers
- Orientation includes a New Employee Orientation (NEO) followed by 2 days of departmental orientation
- Travelers are expected to work 75% of assigned holidays
- Scrubs are provided by the facility
- Free parking is available on-site
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
- Candidates who have worked a permanent position at any Advocate Health Southeast (AHSE) facility must have been separated for at least 1 year to be eligible
- Schedule is set on a 6-week cycle; time off requests require manager approval
