Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Burn ICU (BICU) position at a Level II Trauma Center, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and night shift availability.
Details
- Short-term acute care hospital setting with 426 staffed beds, part of the Yale New Haven Health System
- Burn ICU (BICU) unit serving both burn and non-critical patient populations
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30)
- Every other weekend required
- Floating required as needed
- Charting via Epic (experience preferred)
- Free parking available on-site
Requirements
- Active CT or Compact RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- BLS certification required
- Level II Trauma Center or comparable acute care experience preferred
- Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates; local candidates are not eligible for this position
- Candidates must not have any prior disciplinary actions on their nursing license
- 1 professional reference required for consideration
Additional Information
- May be assigned to non-critical patients as the unit serves both burn and general patient populations
- Flu vaccine is required; declinations are not accepted
- COVID vaccine required; religious and medical exemptions are accepted
- Former permanent staff of this facility must have been separated for at least 2 years before being considered as a traveler
- Up to 7 days of RTO may be approved for this assignment
- Travelers are expected to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities as required by the facility
