Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel Radiology Technologist (X-Ray) for a pediatric imaging unit at a Magnet-designated, Level 1 Trauma teaching hospital, requiring ARRT certification and at least 1 year of experience including OR and C-arm.

- Pediatric imaging unit within a Magnet-designated, Level 1 Trauma academic teaching hospital
- Pediatric patient population across imaging locations on campus
- Daily caseload varies by shift
- Procedures include X-ray imaging with OR and C-arm experience required; O-arm experience preferred
- Charting via Epic
- 3x12-hour night shifts, Saturday through Monday, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, with holiday rotation
- Position includes rotating on-call coverage; on-call Mon–Fri is 7 PM–7 AM, weekend call is 7 AM–7 PM and 7 PM–7 AM, with a 1-hour call-back requirement
- Floating to other pediatric imaging locations on campus may be required for critical staffing coverage
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of X-ray technologist experience required
- OR experience and C-arm experience required (additional training available)
- ARRT (R) and BLS (AHA) required; SCRQSA (R) also accepted
- SC license required if applicable — SC license must be in hand prior to start date
- Trauma experience preferred but not required
- Pediatric imaging experience preferred
- O-arm experience preferred (training available)
- SSN and Driver's License required for consideration
- 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
- Must be able to report within 1 hour of being called in for on-call shifts
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are accepted for this position
- Candidates who have previously worked as permanent staff or PRN at any MUSC location must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler
- The first week of the contract may include daytime weekday shifts for orientation; the set night/weekend schedule begins the following week
- Pre-start online modules are required and must be completed before the assignment begins
- Teal top and black bottom scrubs required
- Radiation badge must be provided by the traveler's agency — the facility does not supply radiation badges to travelers
- All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed at the time of submission; approval is subject to facility needs
- Parking is charged on nights and weekends; a one-time $20 parking pass fee applies
- Candidates living within 60 miles of the facility are considered local; non-local candidates are prioritized
- Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season (June–November), all staff and contractors may be assigned to emergency response duties; peak activity months are August and September
