Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a high-acuity Med/Surg Telemetry position at an acute care hospital in Florida, requiring strong telemetry experience and a minimum of 2 years of experience.

• Works in a mixed Med/Surg Telemetry unit at a 210-bed acute care hospital in Florida
• High-acuity patient population with a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Strong telemetry monitoring experience is required for this role
• Day shift schedule, 4x12-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
• Every other weekend required
• Floating within scope of practice is required
• Block scheduling is not available
• Charting is done via Meditech
• Free parking is available on-site

Requirements

• Active FL RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Strong telemetry experience required
• Rapid Response team experience required
• Total joints experience required
• 1:6 patient ratio experience required

Additional Information

• Candidates must reside more than 30 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Clinical orientation requires availability for a mandatory 5-shift orientation week (36–40 hours)
• Online modules must be completed prior to the start date (approximately 4 hours)
• No RTO during the first or last week of the assignment
• Holiday coverage is required based on the number of holidays falling within the assignment period
• Any color scrubs are acceptable
• First-time travelers are not mentioned as eligible — prior travel or equivalent experience is recommended given the high-acuity nature of the unit
