Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a combined ER/Med Surg position at a Critical Access Hospital, requiring rotating day/night shifts and proficiency in both emergency and medical-surgical care.

Details

• Acute care setting at a Critical Access Hospital (CAH)
• Combined ER and Med Surg unit with 14 beds
• Rotating 12-hour day and night shifts (days: 0700–1930, nights: 1900–0730) depending on staffing needs
• Every other or third weekend required
• Floating between ER and Med Surg departments required
• Potential to work alone with on-call responsibilities
• Epic EMR used for charting
• Omnicell automated medication dispensing system in use
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active MN RN license required
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and TNCC or CALS for ED
• PALS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of Med Surg RN experience required
• ER training required — must be able to work both Med Surg and ER
• Experience in a Critical Access Hospital required
• Must be willing to work rotating shifts, weekends, and float to other units
• Two professional references required: one from a supervisor within the last 12 months of relevant experience, and one from a peer or supervisor in the same specialty within the last 3 years
• All certifications must be active (no pending certifications accepted)
• COVID vaccine required

Additional Information

• Responsible for implementing the full nursing process — assessment, diagnosis, care planning, intervention, evaluation, and documentation
• Candidates with previous employment at any Sanford Health location must disclose it; prior Sanford employees must have an end date at least 6 months prior to their consideration date
• Candidates with a permanent address within 80 miles of the facility are eligible to apply
• Navy blue scrubs required
• All clinicians must badge in and out at the facility
