Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a high-acuity Surgery Trauma unit at a Level 1 inner-city trauma center, requiring a minimum of 2 years of specialty experience and Epic proficiency.
Details
- Position is on the Surgery Trauma unit (6A) of a Level 1 inner-city trauma center
- Patient population includes post-surgical, gunshot wound, quadriplegic, and paraplegic patients
- Patient ratio is 5:1
- Unit support includes nursing techs, phlebotomists, and a unit secretary on night shift
- Nurse handoff is conducted between the ED nurse and the admitting unit nurse
- 12-hour day shifts, 3 shifts per week
- Block scheduling is not available — candidates must be flexible with scheduling
- Travelers are expected to work 4 weekend shifts per month
- No on-call requirements
- Epic EMR is required
Requirements
- Active RN license in Georgia (GA) or a valid Compact RN license required
- Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
- Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg or Surgery Trauma specialty experience required
- Experience in high-acuity, high-volume hospital environments with complex and severe trauma cases required
- Proficiency in Epic EMR required

- This is a high-acuity floor handling complex surgical and trauma cases, including critical and fast-paced situations
- Candidates with experience limited to small or low-volume hospitals may not be suitable for this environment
- No RTO (time off requests) will be approved for this assignment
- Local candidates are accepted for this position
