Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position at a Level 3 Perinatal center requiring 3 years of experience and 1:1 patient ratios.
Details
- Work in the Labor and Delivery unit of a Magnet-designated teaching hospital
- Level 3 Perinatal center with a regional Level 4 NICU, with approximately 150 births per month
- Extreme high-risk patient population, with roughly 70% of patients considered complex high risk
- Unit cares for antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn patients
- Two ORs located on the unit for C-sections, BTLs, and postpartum D&Cs
- A second L&D RN serves as a 'baby catcher' for well, non-compromised newborns
- 1:1 patient ratios
- Night shift schedule, 3x12 hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
- Weekend requirement
- Floating within the hospital required, but not to sister hospitals
- No call requirements
- Uses Epic EMR
Requirements
- Active WA state or compact RN license required
- Minimum of 3 years of L&D RN experience required
- Current BLS and NRP certification required
- AWHONN Intermediate, EFM Certification, and NCC certification preferred
- Epic charting experience preferred
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Experience with high-risk antepartum and Level 3 perinatal/Level IV NICU settings preferred
Additional Information
- Provide comprehensive nursing care across antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn stages
- Support high-risk deliveries, C-sections, and other L&D procedures as part of a collaborative care team
- Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- RTO should be kept to a minimum, with a maximum of 1 week and no time off during the first 2 weeks of assignment
- Prior facility staff must have a minimum 18-month separation before returning as a traveler
- COVID vaccination and booster required with no exceptions
- Scrubs of any color are acceptable, with scrubs provided for OR personnel
