Description
American Traveler is hiring an Interventional Radiology Technologist for a 13-week travel contract at a Level I Trauma, academic medical center in New Haven, CT, requiring at least 1 year of IR experience and ARRT(R) certification.
Details
- Short-term acute care hospital with 1,567 staffed beds, operating as a Level I Trauma Center and academic medical center
- Assignment covers bi-campus operations between two nearby campuses (within a few blocks), with shuttle transportation provided between locations
- Interventional Radiology unit
- Flexible scheduling options: two 12-hour shifts (7:30 AM–8:00 PM) and two 8-hour shifts (7:30 AM–4:00 PM or 11:30 AM–8:00 PM); 4x10 and 5x8 schedules also accepted
- Must be flexible to work 10-hour shifts between 7:30 AM and 8:00 PM
- No weekends or holidays required
- On-call shifts are available to pick up voluntarily
- Charting system: Epic
- Orientation begins every Monday
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of Interventional Radiology experience required
- ARRT(R) and BLS certifications required
- Trauma center experience at a large facility required
- License required if applicable; pending licenses accepted provided the license is active prior to start date
- 1 professional reference required for consideration
Additional Information
- This is a large academic medical center environment; candidates must have prior experience at a comparable large trauma center facility
- Misty Green OR scrubs are provided by the facility
- Flu vaccination is required; declinations are not accepted
- COVID vaccination required; religious and medical exemptions are accepted
- RTO of up to 7 days may be auto-approved; requests exceeding 7 days require facility approval
- Former permanent staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 2 years before being eligible as a traveler
- Candidates must live more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
- First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
- Travelers are expected to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities as required by the facility

Always given very easy assignments. Their MICU is combined with the MICU stepdown so travelers were put in stepdown once a week but it’s a 1:3 ratio there and assignments were fair
