Description
American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with 4+ years of experience for a PICU night shift position at an acute care Magnet hospital in Alaska.
Details
- Acute care Magnet hospital setting with 152 staffed beds
- PICU unit serving a high-acuity patient population including respiratory therapy, trauma, CCU, and floor therapy cases
- Level 2 ER/PICU/NICU environment
- Patient ratio of 1:4
- Night shift schedule: 4x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:00
- Day shift fill-in may be required as needed
- Every other weekend required
- Floating required within scope to CCU, Flex Unit, SDU, PEDS, PICU, PCU, and FBS
- Special equipment includes Servo U, V60, and HFNC
- Charting via Cerner
Requirements
- Current RRT credential required
- Minimum 4 years of respiratory therapy experience required
- Active certifications required: ACLS, BLS, CRT, NRP, PALS
- PICU, NICU, and adult ICU experience preferred
- Cerner experience preferred
- Completion of at least one prior travel assignment required — first-time travelers will not be considered
- Compact license accepted at time of consideration, but a valid Alaska (AK) license is required prior to start for this acute specialty position — license required if applicable
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
Additional Information
- Provide respiratory therapy services across a high-acuity population including PICU, NICU, CCU, and floor therapy patients
- Operate and manage specialized equipment including Servo U ventilators, V60, and HFNC devices
- Any color or pattern scrubs are acceptable
- No on-call required
- No cost for parking; travelers are encouraged to use the facility parking structure
- Local candidates (within 50 miles of the facility) are not accepted for this position
- 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years are required for consideration
- Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained is required for consideration
- All time-off or scheduling requests must be submitted at the time of initial consideration
