Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a 13-week travel contract requiring a NY RN license and broad surgical specialization across ortho, neuro, vascular, thoracic, and more.

• Hospital Operating Room setting
• Diverse surgical specialties required, including ortho/total joint and trauma, neuro, GYN/urology, vascular, and thoracic
• Extensive case variety including bariatric, vascular, thoracic, ENT, general surgery, gynecological, neurological, orthopedic, plastic/reconstructive, podiatric, and urological procedures
• Da Vinci Xi Surgical System used in this unit
• Epic EMR preferred
• Evening shift, 4x10-hour shifts (13:00–23:30)
• On-call responsibilities required
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required (no pending licenses accepted)
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 3 years of OR nursing experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered
• Competency in phlebotomy and IV placement required
• Experience across multiple surgical specialties including ortho/total joint and trauma, neuro, GYN/urology, vascular, and thoracic
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible
• 2 professional supervisor references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
• Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration

• Scrub color: teal
• Minimal RTO requests are preferred; all time-off and scheduling requests must be submitted at the time of application
• Block scheduling will be accommodated when possible but is not guaranteed
• Unit requires phlebotomy and IV placement proficiency as a standard RN competency
• Local candidates (within 75 miles of the facility) are not eligible for this position
