Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Clinical Decisions Unit (CDU) position at a Level 1 Trauma Center in Illinois, requiring at least 2 years of recent ED experience and an active IL RN license.
Details
- Clinical Decisions Unit (CDU) within an Emergency Department setting at a Level 1 Trauma Center
- Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM–7:30 PM
- Every other weekend (approximately 2 weekends per month) required
- Charting performed in Cerner
- This is a mandatory float facility — all clinicians are required to float across Cook County facilities at the facility's discretion, with up to 50-mile float radius and as little as 2 hours' notice before a shift
- Local candidates accepted and preferred; must reside within 75 miles of the facility
Requirements
- Active Illinois (IL) RN license required — no pending licenses accepted
- Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience in an Emergency Department setting
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS
- Cerner EMR experience preferred given facility usage
- 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
- COVID vaccination proof required — no exceptions
Additional Information
- Provide emergency and clinical decision nursing care in a high-acuity, Level 1 Trauma Center environment
- Floating may occur to a variety of units, including areas outside of primary competency; a team-based care model is used when floating outside primary area
- RTO is capped at 5 days maximum per contract, with no more than 2 consecutive days off at a time
- Weekend RTO will not be approved
- No RTO on holidays or the day immediately before or after a holiday
- No block scheduling or special scheduling requests permitted
- Navy blue scrubs required and are not provided by the facility
