Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position at a Level 1 Trauma Center in Illinois, requiring 2+ years of high-risk OB experience and multiple certifications including NRP and AWHONN.
Details
- Labor & Delivery unit within a Level 1 Trauma Center hospital
- High-risk (Level 3) OB patient population
- Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
- Every other weekend (2 weekends per month) required
- No block scheduling or special scheduling requests permitted
- Charting is performed in Cerner
- Mandatory float facility — all clinicians are required to float to any Cook County facility at the facility's discretion, with up to 2 hours' notice before a shift
- Floating may occur outside of primary area of competency; team-based care model is used in those situations
- No on-call requirements
- Any color scrubs are acceptable
Requirements
- Active IL RN license required; no pending licenses accepted
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience in Labor & Delivery
- High-risk (Level 3) OB experience required
- Heparin drip experience required
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring, and NIHSS
- AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification preferred
- 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
- Proof of COVID vaccination required; no exceptions
Additional Information
- Provide high-risk obstetric nursing care within a Labor & Delivery unit, including management of Heparin drips
- RTO is capped at 5 days for the contract duration, with no more than 2 consecutive days off at a time
- RTO on weekends will not be approved
- No RTO on holidays or the day immediately before or after a holiday
- Local candidates are welcome to apply; candidates must reside within 75 miles of the facility
- 13-week contract
