Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position at a Level 1 Trauma Center, requiring 2+ years of high-risk (Level 3) OB experience and an active IL RN license.

• Labor & Delivery unit at a Level 1 Trauma Center hospital in Cook County, IL
• High-risk (Level 3) OB patient population
• Heparin drip management is required in this role
• Schedule: 3x12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
• Every other weekend (2 weekends per month) required
• No on-call requirements
• This is a mandatory float facility — all clinicians are subject to floating at the facility's discretion, including to units outside their primary area of competency
• Charting: Cerner
• Any color scrubs are permitted

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required; pending licenses are not accepted
• Minimum 2 years of L&D nursing experience required
• High-risk (Level 3) OB experience required
• Heparin drip experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring
• Preferred certification: AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring
• NIHSS certification required
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
• Proof of COVID vaccination required; no exceptions

Additional Information

• Candidates must reside within 75 miles of the facility to be eligible for this position; local candidates are preferred
• RTO is limited to a maximum of 5 days per contract, with no more than 2 consecutive days at a time
• RTO on weekends will not be approved
• No RTO on holidays or the day immediately before or after a holiday
• No block scheduling or special scheduling requests are permitted
• Floating may occur to any Cook County facility within 50 miles, with as little as 2 hours' notice before a shift; refusal to float may result in contract cancellation
• When floated outside of primary competency, a team-based care model is utilized
