Description
American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist with at least 1 year of inpatient acute care experience for a weekend day shift position at an acute care hospital in Pleasant Prairie, WI.
Details
- Acute care hospital setting, PT unit
- Schedule: 4x10-hour shifts on weekends, 7:30 AM–6:00 PM
- Patient ratio: 1:1
- Patient population includes orthopedic conditions such as total hip/knee replacement, hip fractures, post-op spinal and shoulder surgeries, low back pain, degenerative disc and joint disease, and rheumatoid arthritis
- Epic EMR experience preferred
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of inpatient acute care PT experience required
- Current BLS certification required
- WI PT license or Compact license required; pending license accepted, but must be obtained prior to start
- Proficiency in orthopedic assessment skills including AROM/AAROM/PROM, strength testing, pain assessment, and gait training
- Experience with standard PT equipment including walkers, gait belts, and crutches
- Ability to develop and document plans of care, goals, evaluations, reassessments, and discharge summaries
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
- Two supervisor references required after offer acceptance
- All RTO requests must be submitted at time of consideration
- License required if applicable
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include evaluation and treatment of orthopedic and musculoskeletal conditions, patient and family education, home exercise program development, and safety/injury prevention
- Billing experience across commercial, Medicare B, Medicaid, private pay, and workers' compensation is valued
- Previous charge experience preferred
- Outpatient clinic experience is a preferred but not required secondary work setting
- NIHSS certification may be pending at submission but must be completed during compliance
- Travelers who have previously worked at this facility must have been separated for a minimum of 1 year before returning
- Travel pairs are accepted
- Candidates with latex allergies cannot be accommodated at this facility
