Description

American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist with at least 1 year of inpatient acute care experience for a weekend day shift position at an acute care hospital in Pleasant Prairie, WI.

• Acute care hospital setting, PT unit
• Schedule: 4x10-hour shifts on weekends, 7:30 AM–6:00 PM
• Patient ratio: 1:1
• Patient population includes orthopedic conditions such as total hip/knee replacement, hip fractures, post-op spinal and shoulder surgeries, low back pain, degenerative disc and joint disease, and rheumatoid arthritis
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of inpatient acute care PT experience required
• Current BLS certification required
• WI PT license or Compact license required; pending license accepted, but must be obtained prior to start
• Proficiency in orthopedic assessment skills including AROM/AAROM/PROM, strength testing, pain assessment, and gait training
• Experience with standard PT equipment including walkers, gait belts, and crutches
• Ability to develop and document plans of care, goals, evaluations, reassessments, and discharge summaries
• SSN and DOB required for consideration
• Two supervisor references required after offer acceptance
• All RTO requests must be submitted at time of consideration
• License required if applicable

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include evaluation and treatment of orthopedic and musculoskeletal conditions, patient and family education, home exercise program development, and safety/injury prevention
• Billing experience across commercial, Medicare B, Medicaid, private pay, and workers' compensation is valued
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Outpatient clinic experience is a preferred but not required secondary work setting
• NIHSS certification may be pending at submission but must be completed during compliance
• Travelers who have previously worked at this facility must have been separated for a minimum of 1 year before returning
• Travel pairs are accepted
