Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Pediatric PACU/Pre-Op position at a Trauma Level III children's hospital in Austin, TX, requiring a minimum of 2 years of pediatric experience and a TX or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in the Surgery Recovery Room of a pediatric hospital setting (Trauma Level III)
• Unit includes 13 Pre-Op bays, 14 PACU bays, and 4 OR rooms
• Pediatric patient population across Pre-Op and PACU
• Floating between Pre-Op and PACU required
• Day shift: 07:00–15:30
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active TX RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
• Current certifications required: BLS (AHA) and ACLS (AHA)
• Minimum 2 years of pediatric nursing experience required
• Previous PACU experience required
• Valid US Social Security Number and US home address required
• Two professional references required for consideration
• Copy of Driver's License required for consideration
• Skills checklist required for consideration

Additional Information

• Follow aseptic sterile technique in accordance with AORN/ASPAN standards
• Evaluate patient responses to treatments and interventions and manage pain
• Anticipate case-specific needs based on knowledge of procedures performed and patient pathophysiology
• COVID vaccination is not required for this position
• Local candidates are accepted, though a radius rule applies that may affect the travel pay rate
