Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Long-Term Care / Skilled Nursing Facility position requiring a BSN and a minimum of 2 years of experience, working overnight shifts with every other weekend and holiday coverage.

  • Long-term care / skilled nursing facility (LTC/SNF) setting
  • Night shift schedule: 6:00 PM – 6:30 AM (12-hour shifts)
  • Every other weekend and holiday coverage required
  • 8-week contract

Requirements

  • Active IA RN license or compact RN license required and must be in good standing at time of consideration — pending licenses not accepted
  • BSN required
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required; no exceptions
  • Current BLS certification required — copies of active certifications required; pending certifications not accepted
  • COVID vaccination required
  • LTC/SNF experience required
  • 2 professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, both must include dates of employment and eligibility for rehire
  • Valid driver's license required

Additional Information

  • Candidates must reside more than 80 miles from the facility to qualify for travel pay rates; local candidates residing within 80 miles are accepted at a different rate

I’ve had a great experience working with my recruiter at American Traveler. In addition, the credentialing specialist has been helpful and communicative in setting up any medical screening with minimal stress.

Cons

While the customer service is great, the agency itself doesn’t support onboarding orientation or medical screening financially. So I would advise to set aside some money to cover those bills until your contract starts.
